K-Drama: Spring Waltz

Hey Everyone!

Just finished watching Spring Waltz. Wow, I should totally be studying for finals, but that was such a cute story line. I cried sooo much! I LOVED the ending though. Totally, "happily ever after". But can you blame them? I mean, all that torment! Geez, imagine how long it takes for these two to be together. So, here's the plot (there are spoilers, so don't read unless you are not going to watch it!):

It was about a little boy Su Ho who was forced on a little island where his dad grew up. His father is a major gambler, and all in all bad guy! SH loved his dad a lot, and did not want to be abandoned by him, but that's how he got to meet Eun Young! Sweet little girl, was really sick, and didn't have any friends. So, lo and behold, here comes a new friend; "Su Ho Oppa". How cute right? Well, too bad, later SH's father returns, and steals EY's surgery money! Wow, totally depressive. Poor SH was abandoned again, and had to face the rest of the island people. So EY's mother, in total distress, leaves for Seoul, only to get into an accident, and die on the EY's birthday! However, EY was cast-away on another island with SH at the time. Anyways, basically somehow the two end up in Seoul as well, and EY has a relapse and they go to the hospital. SH then finds out about her mother's death, and had to do something to pay for the surgery. In the meantime, the parent's of Jae Ha, are at the hospital, and it turns out their late son JH looks almost identical to SH. So basically, SH ends up making a deal with them; they pay for the surgery and he leaves with them to save the mother from trying to kill herself for a 3rd time! Geez woman, get a grip! Anyways, so that's how the childhood ends. When EY wakes up, SH is gone! How sad. So, 15 years go by, and now EY is on her way to Austria on a contest win. On the plane she meets Lee Na, who is JH's childhood love. They separate their ways, but EY meets Philip (SH's friend) by accident at the airport. Philip falls for EY! He ends up inviting her to SH's concert (he's a pianist now). As she is going to the concert via train, she meets the grown up SH by chance (I think not!). It's such a cute little train ride, where he acts all mean and everything, her hot sauce (WTF) falls on his clothes. So EY ends up inviting SH to the concert (hahaha). He admits who he is (the pianist) but she doesn't believe him. It's a pretty cute scene. Anyways, so she's shocked at the concert when she sees him as the pianist! Finally, EY leaves, but before she does, SH is a jerk to her, and Philip helps put her up for the night (not what you're thinking!). Turns out SH is in the same place, but the timing is off. EY makes a cute shell ornament for Philip as thanks, and when SH sees this (btw he has one similar to it, that he kept for years), he runs after her, but misses finding her. He leaves for Korea after like 15 years! Of course, LN thinks he went for her, but really, it was for EY. Many events occur, and we find out that EY was tortured by SH's father after he left, and that SH's adoptive parents told him that EY died! Somehow, as fate would have it, EY and SH fall in love, and the rest of the plot revolves around them trying to be together, yet so many obstacles. For more than half of the series, EY and SH do not know who the other really is, as EY's name went from Suh Eun Young to Park Eun Young. Also, obviously, SH's name is now Jae Ha. SH is the first to realize it is EY, but is blackmailed by LN. Philip is totally sweet throughout, where he just wants EY to be happy, and is not forcing her to be with him! Whereas, when LN finds out she's been lied to, she forces SH to marry her. In the end, it turns out that LN gives up, SH loses his ability to play the piano, and finally SH and EY marry and move to the island together.

It was quite a cute story line. I will elaborate more once finals are done, but for now this is the 'brief' version. It was really, cute, but definitely I have others that I liked better. Since, this was the first blog post, I hope you enjoyed, whoever is reading! I liked this, and the title song "One love" by Loveholic was cute too. But not as cute as the "Clementine" song they played, which had a memorable aspect to their childhood. I would recommend this drama for sure, just because of the ending.

I'll give it a 4.5 stars out of 5!

I'm off,

- B
