Chicken Noodle Soup

Hey Everyone!

So, as I mentioned earlier (last day of exams?) that I would make soup for my mom because she's sick! I finally did it! Guess what? It was completely made from scratch; my own recipe! I can't believe it! It turned out amazing! I'm so shocked. My dad had some too before leaving for work, and loved it. My mom found it salty, but she's sick, so I'll let that drop. I tasted it, and it was really good! Check out the picture, it's after most of the soup was done! Thought I'd share my happiness with all of you!

Hot Tub Time Machine

Hey Everyone!

So, I just watched the lamest movie today! It was just about literally a "hot tub time machine". The 4 main characters go on a trip and somehow return to the 80's. Then, they have to do everything the same way as they did in the past, and avoid changing it, while trying to find the way back to the future. In the end, they find their way back, and it turns out someone changed the past, and so they are all somehow better off now. It was quite a poorly made movie, with some crude humour here and there. I admit, I laughed, but definitely not worth seeing at the theatre, nor even on DVD, maybe online.

I give this movie a 1.5 out of 5 stars.

Worlds Within...

Hey Everyone!

Wow, I just finished this drama called either Worlds Within or The World that They Live In. I really liked it! It's mainly about behind the scenes of drama/movie making. So here's the main plot. So it started off with Joon Young (a newbie director) dating a surgeon, and Ji Oh (director) dating his ex-girlfriend (longtime). Anyways, it turned out that JY and JO work together in the same firm. They also dated for a short period during their post-secondary education, but for some reason (still unsure why, I think he went to see his ex) they broke up. So, the story continued from that point on, where JY is dumped (for the 4th time) by her surgeon boyfriend, and all along it is quite obvious that JO still liked JY! So, when she was finally available, he asked her to date him (by the way, his ex is married, and so she lies to him and says she's pregnant with her husband's child so that JO won't be hurt by her anymore). At first JY was reluctant because of their past, but then finally she gave in. They had a strage relationship, where they bickered a LOT (like a married couple?)! But, there were a LOT of kisses in this drama. It was a bit different than most dramas. I did not start crying till the second half of the drama. I'm still not quite sure why he broke up with JY for a second time, but I think he was just at his limits, since to him, she was better off both financially and professionally, yet she looked upto him as someone who was a mentor! So, he let his pride take over, and broke up with her. Another guy who was an assistant director, also liked JY, but that was short-lived since his mentor JO still liked her. Also, poor JO had Glaucoma, where his vision was blurred (imagine that as a director!). Finally, when the news got out, JO gave in to JY again, realizing his insecurities were silly. This was only the main characters' story. However, there were several other characters that were shown with their own tales. For example, there was Yoon Young (actress) who was dating the chief director for JY and JO's firm. They had their own strange history, where they could not be together due to circumstances for years, and this time, they were finally together again after such a long time. Also, there's the rival director (of JO's - yet JO still admires him on the inside) that was in love with the newbie actress in his drama, but could not be with her because his father is a politician, and he cannot be seen in the public so much (such affairs and such). His father lied to him, and gave him an ultimatum, which made him break up with the actress. But, in the end, he found out that his father betrayed him (didn't keep his end of the deal), and so he and the actress got back together again. But, honestly, it seems like there were so many love stories going on, but the drama did a good job portraying the different aspects of, drama behind the scenes and very complex lives. A quote was, "live your life like a drama". I really liked that phrase, since my blog is called "Drama and Life". I cannot say that I want to live life like a drama, however, life is quite dramatic sometimes! My boyfriend says that dramas are exaggerated versions of real life. But, honestly, such things can happen! Yes, since it is within about 16 episodes, it seems like their lives are so complex, but it is only a PART of their life! It does not mean the rest of their lives are going to be complicated! Even my life has had its ups and downs, and it will continue this way. I've had plenty of dramatic experiences, but it was only short periods of my life. So, basically what I'm trying to say is that, 'we all live life like a drama'. So, I hope that you enjoyed my synopsis and side notes! This is not a bad drama to watch. It does drag a bit (perhaps because not dramatic enough?), but definitely worth a watch. In fact, after this drama, Hyun Bin (JO) and Song Hye Kyo (JY) actually went out for a little while! I honestly think, they had awesome chemistry during the drama, and they really looked cute together! Oh wow, Hyun Bin has the cutest dimples! I love it! I'm a sucker for his dimples! No doubt! Very cute! Okay, I'll stop now! Try and watch this one if you have some time!

I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

How to Train Your Dragon

Hey Everyone,

Today I watched another movie! Wow, definitely making up for my lack of English movies! I actually watched this in IMAX 3D today. Honestly, it is a totally cute movie, and worth a watch, but I would not say it is worth going to watch in "IMAX" 3D. Regular 3D would have been fine. The story just revolves around a guy who does not fit into the "viking" way of killing dragons. He ends up befriending a dragon, and helping it fly again. Finally, he convinces the vikings that dragons are safe creatures, and that they should work together, and not against each other. Overall, a cute animated movie as usual. I loved the dragon. VERY cute! =).

I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Sisterhood of Secrets

Hey Everyone!

Have you ever noticed that, us, girls can’t seem to become close without sharing our deepest secrets? I just realized this myself, last night. I was watching “The World that They Live In” (I will summarize when I finish this drama) last night, and there was a scene where a couple of women were sitting together, and one of them had to go through a sort of "initiation" where she had to spill some of her secrets, to fit in. She then asked, if that is what women do to become close. They ALL replied, "yes". I found that quite amusing at the time, however now that I’m thinking about it again, I realize that it is true! Most of my closest girl friends know my deep dark secrets (maybe not all, but most!). It is so funny! Why do we have to share such details of our lives to become closer? To be honest though, I think I sort of understand. In order to understand a person, it is better to know more about that person than less. It is a way to feel like we know each other better if we share some of our secrets. If we don’t, then we seem like we are too almighty or proud or egotistical. I for one, love hearing about my friends’ lives and sharing my own worries with them. I think it is a way to bond. So, here’s a small secret of mine, that I will share with all of you. Let’s BOND! In fact, my name means “bond”. My parents chose my name because (hilarious!) they saw someone in a Bengali Drama with that name and really liked the girl’s character! I just realized (as I was typing that sentence), no wonder I like dramas so much! Regardless, there’s a lot of pressure with a name like that. I’m supposed to be the tie/bond that keeps the family together. Sometimes I feel like that is a burden, whereas other times I think it’s great! I feel a bit more special (attention seeker right?! =P). I feel that I should play this role with my friends as well sometimes. I’m the "event planner" as my boyfriends’ friends claim. I do not mind this title at all. I think it’s nice to be able to get everyone together. I do this with my boyfriends’ friends, my friends, and even my family (if relatives visiting or just going out together). I always feel that if I can be of help to others, then I’ll be needed, and that way we can all become closer in that way. If I can be the glue that ties everyone together, I feel really happy at such a thought. So, everyone, I end this posting by saying that I hope to create many more bonds with people in my present and future. I hope you will be one of them!

The Back-up Plan

Hey Everyone!

So, today I watched The Back-up Plan. Which, was a cute movie about a girl who wants to have babies, but has serious trust issues (since her father abandoned her when her mother was ill and passed away!.. of course she has trust issues when it comes to guys!). Anyways, then the day she has sperm inseminated into her, she meets a guy (both got into the same cab; so cliched!). Anyways, so they just keep meeting by coincidence after that, and somehow end up getting together (honestly I thought the guy was trying too hard!). Finally, he found out she's pregnant, but decided to stay with her. So, throughout the movie you see comedic scenes with the girl and her trust issues, the weird "Single Mothers club" or rather cult in my opinion, and the guy and his worries about fatherhood. The cutest part about this movie, honestly, was the "lucky coin", and how she said it's lucky when it's on "heads" side up. After she turned it around, she left, and he picked it up. I found that to be the cutest. It was however, nice to see JLo return on the big screen, and she looked beautiful as ever! Damn, that woman has a great figure! Can't beat that!

Anyways, I give this movie a 3 out of 5 stars.

Other than the movie, I had a wonderful night tonight with my two best friends! Overall, an enjoyable day.

I met Lee Jung Jin today...

... in my dreams! Sorry if I excited anyone, but sadly it was only a dream! It was quite a nice dream. I'll give a briefing of my dream.

So, I was sitting at a coffee shop downtown, drinking my tea and reading a book, while waiting for my friends to arrive. When all of a sudden, Lee Jung Jin arrived (wearing a cap and sunglasses; so cliched!). All the tables were full, and I had one chair at my table free. He asked me if he could join me or if I was waiting for anyone. I just said, it's fine if he sits there, as I'm waiting for my friends. We started talking just randomly, about the nice weather here, and just simple things about ourselves. He asked me for my name, and I told him it is too difficult to pronounce, so just call me B. I asked for his, and he replied "Jin". I thought, hmm, that's interesting. For a long time, I did not realize who he was. Then, suddenly he took off his sunglasses, and I was awestruck! I told him, how he resembled an actor that I know of. He was surprised to realize that I may recognize him. But, I let it go, and said, there's no way he'd be here! So, we just left the conversation at that, and continued talking about how odd he found it that I watch K-dramas. Then, I told him about my fascination with asian dramas, and how it all began. He found it quite amusing. He also tested me on how much Korean I know. It was quite a fun conversation. Then we talked about "9 End 2 Outs". I told him how much I loved "Lee Jung Jin's" character Tae Kyung in the drama. He wanted to hear more about it. So I told him. Then, I told him about my blog, and wrote down the URL on a napkin (haha!). Soon after our discussion of the drama, my friend called me, and I had to go. I asked "Jin" for a favour; to take his picture. He asked me why. I told him, that he resembles the actor so much, that it's a wasted opportunity for me if I don't. He allowed me to take the picture. Then, after preparing to leave, I smiled down at him for our goodbye, and I said "it was nice meeting you Lee Jung Jin shi". He looked up at me in surprise, and just said "you knew?". I said that it would be too incredible if he wasn't the actor, to have such a strong resemblance, however, his secret was safe with me *wink*. However, I told him to check out my blog, as that is where I'll be writing about my day. Then, we said our farewells, and just before closing the door behind me, I faintly saw his reaction; he was smiling like he did in the drama, when he was amused by something (for example, when Jun Mo arrived at the bar for the first time, and Nan Hee was acting shy). I smiled myself, and went to meet my friends, and told them all about my adventure. So, that's my tale of meeting Lee Jung Jin. Do I wish it were true? Of course! But, the dream was a sweet dream, that I'll cherish nonetheless! Hope you enjoyed that.

Bored...

Hey Everyone,

I'm having such a hard time focusing today! It's probably because my friends just invited me out tonight (Friday night) and I cannot because I have an exam at 9 AM tomorrow! Oh, the troubles of an university student! I really wish I could go hang out with them tonight, but unfortunately, I'll probably be at home cramming the night away. This exam is worth 55% of my mark! I'm terrified of tomorrow, yet so slacking the day away! I look forward to tomorrow at 11 AM so much! When I come home, I am totally treating myself by either watching a new drama OR going out and shopping! I just know my mom has been dying to go to the grocery store, so most likely we'll go to T&T! My fave grocery store of all time! I just love the guavas they sell there, and the awesome asian stuff I can find! Oh! I bought a Hot Pot set once from there too! It's awesome! I tried it first at a friend's house, and now I'm hooked! It's so healthly and inexpensive (well not the meat =P). Anyways, I'm not feeling well, and my mom will call soon to pick her up! So...

Most Natural Kiss...

Hey Everyone,

This has been on my mind since last night! So, I just re-watched a few episodes of 9 End 2 Outs and I realized that at the end of episode 15, the kiss between Tae Kyung and Nan Hee was the most natural kiss I've ever seen in a K-Drama so far! It was so passionate. I mean, they've waited 30 years for that kiss! Sure, there was the one at the vacation, but that was just the lonliness kicking in. But, you could feel the angst of the moment, and it totally got my heart racing, waiting in anticipation for the return kiss by TK. Thinking back on it now, I realize that the "timing" was never good for the pair. I mean, first NH liked him in high school, but he didn't realize his feelings (or did he?). So, she went with Jun Mo. Then, during the army, TK fell for NH, but when he returned to visit her to tell her, she was with someone else. Then, when she finally broke things off, and he finished his service, TK fell for the singer girl (second love of his life). Finally, when the singer girl left him in misery, they went back to being friends again. Then she dated the baseball player (wow so damn young!) and that was bound to end in failure! Yet, at that time TK fell for her again. When NH finally breaks up with the baseball player, TK breaks it off with his girlfriend of the time (nothing serious anyways... geez liking one girl and dating another... that's no good!). NH and TK go on the vacation, and he finally confesses after 30 YEARS of friendship. NH freaks out a bit, but then starts to realize her feelings. When they finally decide to go out on a date, the singer girl returns! Talk about bad timing! So, when NH finally decides to take the relationship to the next level, and she turns around and sees TK behind her, her shocked look was priceless (surprised me too!). But what was more priceless, was the intensity that was coming out from both of them, after she planted one on him! I was dumbfounded myself! My heart was waiting in total anticipation, as he stared at her and you could see he was just in a total blank trying to figure out what to do, while she was standing there confused herself. Then TK kisses her back. WOW... total fireworks went off in my head too! Definitely worth a watch. Check it out at (start at 7:00 if you just want to see the main scene): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixhTiRVu2VQ&feature=related (sorry not subbed!). After this show, I'm totally smitten for Lee Jung Jin. Anyways, moral of the story: a boy and a girl cannot be friends without some sort of romantic outbreak! =D.

I give this drama at 4.5 out of 5 stars, but this kiss, I give it a 5 out of 5 stars!

That's it for now! Anticipating my next kiss too! *squeal on the inside*

Naruto Shippuden Movie 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire

Hey Everyone!

Wow, just finished watching this awesome anime-movie! This movie had a great plot, returns of many characters (even Gaara vs. Naruto again!), and as usual a life's lesson! Here's the plot:

Basically, a guy from the past that was friend's with Tsunade, Orochimaru, and Jiraya, named Hiraku, was weak, but wanted something that made him special. He decided on 'chimera', which was to take up blood-lines (like Sharingan) and become immortal (cliched true!). Around the time, Obito (Kakashi's friend) died, Hiraku put a puppet-curse on him. Now (in present time) he had 4/5 of the chimeras (I think) he needed, and Kakashi was the 'save the best for last' person; "the human". Kakashi, knew that he would have to be sent, so he decided to sacrifice himself for Konoha. However, as usual, Naruto's "Will of Fire" is to save his comrades first, and so he, Sakura, and Sai went out to save Kakashi. Btw, Kakashi asked Tsunade to put a curse on him too; to blow up if he used Mangekyu. Of course, Naruto went out of his way to save him! In the meantime, on their journey, they were told not to save Kakashi (by Tsunade), and Shikamaru, and pretty much everyone (all 3 teams), came to stop him. At one point, even Gaara came to battle Naruto (AWESOMENESS!) in order to stop him from reaching Kakashi. Their main point was to save Konoha, however Naruto got past them all, with his stubborness (typical Naruto)! Either ways, in the end, Naruto saves the day as usual.

There was a LOT of comic reliefs in this one! Loved it! Particularly the ending was comedic (like previous Naruto films). I would definitely recommend this movie! It has everything! Jiraya too! Awww... I miss him ='(... wish he would return for real... oh well... But regardless, many people are featured in this one. So, watch it for sure! If you need the link, try www.onepieceofbleach.com!

I give this a 5 out of 5 stars!

My Day...

Hey Everyone!

So, I'm just wasting some time before my final at 2 PM. It's almost 1 PM now. I don't feel like watching any shows or studying, so just blogging! =)... Maybe I'll watch another movie tonight. Not sure which one yet. Definitely has to be J or K for sure. Ahhh... my back is killing me! I think I'll just write my exam and come home and relax for today. LoL... I've been doing plenty of that already, but both my parents are sick, my mom came home sick today from work! I'm such a bad child, I really should help take care of them, but I'm scared to catch the cold during finals ='(. I think maybe I'll make soup for my mom if my dad hasn't bought it already. Hmmm... just a few more days (till Saturday) and then I can start my new K-Drama! Currently, I'm waiting for "Creating Destiny" to finish being subbed (37 eps!), they're only done 31. Oh, the wait is killing me. I remember starting and having to wait forever for "Real Clothes" to finish. That's why I'm just waiting for "Creating Destiny" to finish first, then download it. Also, "Personal Preference" looks really good! Can't wait till it's done. It has Lee Min Ho! He's kind of goofy looking when he smiles, but he's really cute when he's in his 'bad boy' mode. LoL, my boyfriend asked me the other day if girls really like bad boys. I just realized how much us felines like bad boys! It's just something about them, that make our hearts beat quicker. Am I right? ;)... I felt the same about Jang Geum Suk in You're Beautiful. Normally, I don't think he's all that attractive, but 'bad boy' mode, he looked quite attractive to me! Like for example, in "Baby and I", he looked good in his gang-mode LoL! So, I suppose, I may actually watch more of his shows now (like Beethoven Virus). Ahhh... the anticipation of watching another drama is killing me. Totally in withdrawal period from my dramas =(. Can't wait till these silly finals are over with, and I can start again! Well, it's almost 1 PM now, so I better get going. Enough with my venting! Enjoy! =D...

K-Movie: Baby and I

Hey Everyone!

Second time today! Awww, such a cute little movie. The baby was too adorable! Basic plot:

An 18 years old boy who is relatively rich, is quite a punk in school. So, his parents leave him alone for a while so that he can learn to be independent. However, suddenly, while out, someone (supposedly an ex) leaves a baby claiming he's his. So, the tale continues as he takes care of the child, and learns to grow up. Along the way, he meets a cute girl who likes him a lot, and is some sort of genius. She comes by and baby-sits all the time. She has like 8 other siblings! It's quite amusing. In the end, it turns out the kid was actually his friend's, but he is quite poor, and when giving up the baby for adoption, but original 'dad' decides to keep the baby. In the end, both 'dad's raise the baby. There's a cute little kiss scene at the end too! Awwwww... is all I have to say.

Jang Geum Suk looked quite cute in this one ;). The girl was hilarious! The assistant from Pasta was in it too.

I give it a 4 out of 5 stars!

J-Movie: Kanojo to no Tadashii Asobikata

Hey Everyone!

So, today, during my study break, I watched a cute little (very short!) movie called Kanojo to no Tadashii Asobikata. Not sure what it stands for, but here's the plot:

It's about a boy and a girl playing a game from childhood, where the girl is the 'princess' and the boy is the 'servant'. It's pretty clear that the girl likes the guy later in life, but he does not seem to get the hints! He just plays along with his role. Basically the rules are that when they are in school, they cannot act like they know eachother, but outside of school, they play their respective roles. If anyone finds out, then they have to stop playing. It continues till about highschool, when he realizes that he cannot force himself to go to Tokyo (she's really smart, whereas he is clueless about his future). One boy finds out about them, and confront the guy, and so they decide to stop the game. The girl however, does not want to, and claims that they need to wait for 3 people to find out before they stop. But, he says he does not want to continue in this stage of life. Finally in the end, it turns out that there was another girl that did find out, and that is probaby why she said "3 people". So, basically, they meet up once again and just hang out.

The movie has been licensed, but you can watch it at http://www.dramacrazy.net/. It's quite short and sweet, and even won an award. But, I would have preferred a better ending, with some sort of love revelation, where they kiss or something! That was a bit disappointing, but it was cute and worth it if you have an hour to spare. I was bored enough, and actually had been waiting to watch this movie for quite a while now. A bit disappointed, but oh well.

I give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

K-Drama: Spring Waltz

Hey Everyone!

Just finished watching Spring Waltz. Wow, I should totally be studying for finals, but that was such a cute story line. I cried sooo much! I LOVED the ending though. Totally, "happily ever after". But can you blame them? I mean, all that torment! Geez, imagine how long it takes for these two to be together. So, here's the plot (there are spoilers, so don't read unless you are not going to watch it!):

It was about a little boy Su Ho who was forced on a little island where his dad grew up. His father is a major gambler, and all in all bad guy! SH loved his dad a lot, and did not want to be abandoned by him, but that's how he got to meet Eun Young! Sweet little girl, was really sick, and didn't have any friends. So, lo and behold, here comes a new friend; "Su Ho Oppa". How cute right? Well, too bad, later SH's father returns, and steals EY's surgery money! Wow, totally depressive. Poor SH was abandoned again, and had to face the rest of the island people. So EY's mother, in total distress, leaves for Seoul, only to get into an accident, and die on the EY's birthday! However, EY was cast-away on another island with SH at the time. Anyways, basically somehow the two end up in Seoul as well, and EY has a relapse and they go to the hospital. SH then finds out about her mother's death, and had to do something to pay for the surgery. In the meantime, the parent's of Jae Ha, are at the hospital, and it turns out their late son JH looks almost identical to SH. So basically, SH ends up making a deal with them; they pay for the surgery and he leaves with them to save the mother from trying to kill herself for a 3rd time! Geez woman, get a grip! Anyways, so that's how the childhood ends. When EY wakes up, SH is gone! How sad. So, 15 years go by, and now EY is on her way to Austria on a contest win. On the plane she meets Lee Na, who is JH's childhood love. They separate their ways, but EY meets Philip (SH's friend) by accident at the airport. Philip falls for EY! He ends up inviting her to SH's concert (he's a pianist now). As she is going to the concert via train, she meets the grown up SH by chance (I think not!). It's such a cute little train ride, where he acts all mean and everything, her hot sauce (WTF) falls on his clothes. So EY ends up inviting SH to the concert (hahaha). He admits who he is (the pianist) but she doesn't believe him. It's a pretty cute scene. Anyways, so she's shocked at the concert when she sees him as the pianist! Finally, EY leaves, but before she does, SH is a jerk to her, and Philip helps put her up for the night (not what you're thinking!). Turns out SH is in the same place, but the timing is off. EY makes a cute shell ornament for Philip as thanks, and when SH sees this (btw he has one similar to it, that he kept for years), he runs after her, but misses finding her. He leaves for Korea after like 15 years! Of course, LN thinks he went for her, but really, it was for EY. Many events occur, and we find out that EY was tortured by SH's father after he left, and that SH's adoptive parents told him that EY died! Somehow, as fate would have it, EY and SH fall in love, and the rest of the plot revolves around them trying to be together, yet so many obstacles. For more than half of the series, EY and SH do not know who the other really is, as EY's name went from Suh Eun Young to Park Eun Young. Also, obviously, SH's name is now Jae Ha. SH is the first to realize it is EY, but is blackmailed by LN. Philip is totally sweet throughout, where he just wants EY to be happy, and is not forcing her to be with him! Whereas, when LN finds out she's been lied to, she forces SH to marry her. In the end, it turns out that LN gives up, SH loses his ability to play the piano, and finally SH and EY marry and move to the island together.

It was quite a cute story line. I will elaborate more once finals are done, but for now this is the 'brief' version. It was really, cute, but definitely I have others that I liked better. Since, this was the first blog post, I hope you enjoyed, whoever is reading! I liked this, and the title song "One love" by Loveholic was cute too. But not as cute as the "Clementine" song they played, which had a memorable aspect to their childhood. I would recommend this drama for sure, just because of the ending.

I'll give it a 4.5 stars out of 5!
