Secret Love

Hey Everyone!

So, I finally finished the trio of dramas that I wanted to watch before 2013 ended. As you have read already, I have watched Master's Sun and I Hear Your Voice, but finally I have also finished Secret Love. I wanted to save this drama till later during the holidays, but I figured I should just watch it now and spend time with loved ones when back home instead. Anyways, this drama did live up to the hype that it created while competing against Heirs early on. The drama was mainly about Kang Yoo Jung and Jo Min Hyuk. The opening scene was quite dramatic, where YJ was being tried for a hit-and-run case. When she was sentenced, the flashback to what happened occurred. YJ was a sweet and bubbly character, that worked a lot of jobs to support her boyfriend Ahn Do Hoon; she helped pay for his education to become a prosecutor. Now, he finally became a prosecutor, but his mother still did not approve of their relationship. It was their 7 year anniversary that day, so DH decided to propose to YJ that night. However, that is when everything started to fall apart. DH proposed to YJ and she accepted wholeheartedly. But, unfortunately due to the rain (and broken windshield wipers), DH hit a woman while almost getting into an accident with a truck. What was extra unfortunate, was that she was pregnant with none other than MH's child. While the crime was being investigated, YJ had no idea what was going on. DH's car was registered under her name, so she became a prime suspect. When she realized what had really happened that night (she thought they just hit a barrel), she felt guilty and wanted to avoid DH getting punished, so she took the fall for the crime. What she didn't expect was MH taking revenge against her from that day onward! The first step to the revenge was making DH take on the case as the prosecutor. Initially, YJ got 5 years of imprisonment, but as soon as she entered, she found out she was pregnant with DH's child. She gave birth to the child and was almost set for parole, but MH made DH prevent the parole. What was worst was that YJ's baby was also taken away that day. After that incident, YJ got through the rest of her 3 years of imprisonment alone and hoping to reunite with her child once out of prison. But what was waiting for her was more misfortune. After her father found out about her arrest, he got vascular dementia, and so lost his cognitive abilities and memory. Not only that, but YJ found out her baby died of sepsis while at the orphanage. She was now at rock bottom, but MH was still lurking about trying to cause her more pain. The rest of the drama revolves around the hate that MH had for YJ and revelations of many "secrets". This drama was very well written and the lead actors definitely had great chemistry! I would give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars because of how great the acting and plot were. That's it for now.

Marry Him If You Dare

Hey Everyone!

It's around that time again, when all my weekly dramas end. This week, Marry Him If You Dare just ended. It was a cute drama about Na Mi Rae. MR's future self came back to the past to prevent MR from marrying Kim Shin. Originally, MR was supposed to get into a car accident with KS and the two were to fall in love with each other during her hospital stay. But when the future MR prevented that situation, MR ended up meeting Park Se Joo in Jejudo instead (well, more like SJ met her, but she had no idea he was there). Eventually, KS, MR, and SJ all meet again at the broadcasting station where her brother works. At first, MR fell for KS right away through several instances. At the same time, SJ had already falled in love with MR from their first encounter in Jejudo. So, began their love triangle. The rest of the drama revolved around MR having to choose between the two guys, while the future MR kept getting in the way of MR and KS from being together. It was a cute drama. I don't think I would watch it again, but the MR and KS couple had really good chemistry together. If you like resolution in the end, this is not the drama to watch. However, even with an ambiguous ending, I actually liked that it was! Anyways, I won't give away any more hints, but give this drama a chance if you like light-hearted dramas. I give this drama a 4 out of 5 stars. That's it for now.

I Hear Your Voice

Hey Everyone!

Back-to-back reviews tonight! This is the drama that kept me so busy these past few days. The drama was called I Hear Your Voice. The drama began with Jang Hye Sung being interviewed to become a Public Defender (government appointed defense attorney). During the interview, she told the interviewers a story about her past. It was the story of how she became a witness in a murder case 10 years ago (for Min Joon Gook). During the trial for that murder case, HS admitted to being a witness at a very young age (sadly, the JG was not very pleased, and threatened to kill her and her family when he came out of jail). JG had killed Park Soo Ha's father because he wanted revenge on him. When JG was murdering SH's father, he suddenly got the ability to hear people's voices. During the trial, SH was just a child and that is when he first encountered HS. He was very thankful to her, and searched for her for the past 10 years. He finally found her when she was given the Public Defender position, because she was mentioned in a newspaper article. However, not only SH saw that article, the JG did too (he was getting out of jail soon). During HS's first case, SH finally got to meet HS again (because it was his classmate being defended by HS). This was when HS realized SH's ability to read people's thoughts, so she decided to use his ability in court. At first, HS had no idea who SH was. But, because SH found out that JG was out on parole, he decided to protect HS. When SH encountered JG for the first time after his release, SH started to punch him and almost killed him. That's when HS was called to the police station as his guardian, and so she found out who SH really was. At that time, HS decided to take SH into her home because she was scared that JG would try to kill her. During that time, the two became close, but HS liked her fellow Public Defender, Cha Kwan Woo. DW was a very enthusiastic Public Defender. DW and HS entered the same office at the same time. For a while, even HS's mother was pushing for their relationship. However, when JG was finally brought in for killing someone close to HS, KW was JG's lawyer. KW had no idea the type of man JG was to SH and HS. Before KW could realize, JG was already released. After JG's release, all hell broke loose! SH decided he needed to kill JG to protect HS, but unfortunately, HS got in the way and SH stabbed her! After that incident, SH and JG both disappeared. The rest of the drama revolved around the search for JG and SH. It was a really good drama, but it was definitely emotional! When I first started watching the drama, I thought it was going to be a light hearted and sappy noona-love type of drama. However, even with the first episode, it was a very intense and emotional drama. I really liked it because it had a great storyline. I give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars because it put me on an emotional roller-coaster the whole time! Even the villian played his role very well (sure scared me!). That's it for now.

Master's Sun

Hey Everyone!

I finished this drama a few days ago, but because I got caught up in another drama, I totally forgot to post this. The drama was called Master's Sun, and it was as lovey-dovey as it gets! The drama was mainly about Joo Joong Won and Tae Gon Shil and their unusual adventures. The drama began with the audience finding out that GS can see ghosts that are stuck on earth until they have resolved their last wish. JW and GS first encountered each other while GS was on one of her missions to help a ghost and so she suddenly appeared in front of JW's car. When she got into the car and accidently touched JW, she realized he is her savior because when she touches him, she doesn't see ghosts anymore! After that incident, GS followed JW around and eventually got a job at his company as a janitor. At first JW avoided GS, thinking she was crazy. But he eventually believed her because she could see his first love's ghost around him. They then began an unusal contract, where she had to report anytime that she saw his first love, and in return he would go to her whenever she had to escape a scary ghost. Of course, as the two became closer, they started to develop feelings for each other. The rest of the drama revolved around the two becoming closer and realizing many secrets about each other's past. It was a really good drama, which was light-hearted, but also had some deep topics. Each episode had a different ghost's story, and each ghost had reasons to stay on earth until they resolved their unresolved issues. Though the main couple was very cute, each of the ghost stories had an emotional ending. I have to admit, I teared up for many of the ghost stories because of the emotional impact. The drama was really well written, and the chemistry between the main couple was really good! I have to give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars because it had all the elements I look for in a drama. A true rom-com! That's it for now.

A Gentleman's Dignity

Hey Everyone!

So, I finally finished another amazing drama! I don't know why I haven't watched this drama before now, but it was a great one! The drama was called A Gentleman's Dignity and it was mainly about the friendship between 4 middle-aged men and their love lifes. I always put this drama off because the age of the actors (and perhaps lack of eye candy), however after watching it, I realized, "Wow, now this is a good plot!". The drama was mainly about Kim Do Jin (architect), Im Tae San (DJ's partner), Choi Yoon, and Lee Jung Rok. The 4 had a great friendship that began in middle school and continued till their 40's. The drama began with DJ coincidentally bumping into Seo Yi Soo two times (once at the coffee shop and another when she was wearing a knitted red dress). DJ was always known as a player who had multiple women he was dating, but somehow YS became an interesting facination to him. Coincidentally, it seemed that TS and Yoon knew YS already. TS and Yoon both played in a baseball team, where YS was their umpire. Not only that, TS's sister, Im Mae Ahri was taught by YS (in elementary school) and through MA, YS knew Yoon as well. Initally, when DJ met YS, she had a HUGE crush on TS. However, he was dating her roommate Hong Se Ra. Although YS still had a crush on TS, she pretended to be fine with SR and TS dating. However, DJ found out about the one-sided crush, and decided that he liked YS and wanted to change her mind towards him. At first, YS thought DJ was just kidding around, but in reality he was truly falling for her. The rest of the drama revolved around DJ and YS's relationship blossoming, and the rest of the friends having their own fair share of relationship troubles. I really liked this drama because it showcased the internal struggles of all the characters. It was not only a typical rom-com, but it actually genuinely made me cry and laugh too. The characters were all very complex and the relationships between each character was very interesting as well. Not only that, but there were a lot of appearences by idols (like CN Blue and Girls' Generation members). I definitely give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars because it was just that good! That's it for now.

I Hate You, But It's Fine

Hey Everyone!

So, I finished this drama a few days ago, but just didn't have a chance to write about it. It is an older drama (2007), but it was really good! The drama was called I Hate You, But It's Fine. The drama started with Kang Baek Ho's mother and Bong Soo Ah's father getting married. At first BH was seen to be a trouble maker, but as the drama went on, it was evident that he was actually a very sweet guy, that just never had the opportunity to find a good, stable job. SA's father was the owner of Bonjour Foods, so when BH's mother married into the family, BH got a job as a temporary employee (his mother's idea). Throughout the drama, SA's grandmother disapproved of BH's mother and BH joining the family (to the point of getting his mother to sign a pre-nup). When BH finally started his job, he met his team leader, Na Dan Poong. DP was a very stern boss and loved her job more than anything else. The two didn't get along at first, but as time went on, they began to complement each other at work. Eventually BH fell for DP, but during this time, BH's friend already started dating DP. Throughout the drama, BH had to control his feelings for DP, but without even realizing it, he was falling deeper and deeper in love with her. DP on the other hand, did not seem to even care about either guy, and only cared about her work. In the meantime, SA married DP's brother Na Sun Jae. SJ was already dating another girl just before marrying SA, but broke up with his ex because he was an ambitious person (wanted Bonjour Foods). However, after marriage, SJ was a bad husband because he kept on going back to his ex (did not cheat on his wife, but he still had feelings for his ex, and kept on causing misunderstandings between them both). The rest of the drama revolved around the complicated relationship between DP, SJ, BH, and SA; SA had to adjust to married life, SJ continued his ambition without care for anyone else, DP learned to love someone other than her work, and BH struggled to make peace in his household. It was a really good family drama, and I'm really happy that I watched it. It was very long, but the episodes were a third of the length of other dramas. I give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars because it had a little bit of everything, from birth secrets to downfall of too much ambition. That's it for now.

Ma Boy

Hey Everyone!

Another drama I finished today was Ma Boy. It was a 3 episode drama that was just super light and cute. The drama was Ma Boy and it was mainly about Jang Geu Rim arriving at a new school full of idols. One of the celebrities was Irene. GR ended up rooming with Irene, but what she didn't know was that Irene was actually a guy. The rest of the drama revolves around GR's struggle to fit into the new school and coping with the secret behind her roommate. It was a super cute, lovey dovey drama, so I have to give this drama a 4 out of 5 stars. If you are looking for something short and cute, then this is it! That's it for now.

Good Doctor

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished another drama. Well, actually, I've been procrastinating in posting a few dramas I finished recently, so you will see a few posts tonight. The most recent drama I finished was Good Doctor. This drama was very unique because the main character, Park Si On, was autistic. I have not come across any dramas so far that had such an interesting character. I really liked how the actor portrayed the character. The story was mainly about SO coming to work at the pediatric sector of the hospital that Cha Yoon Seo worked at. Initially, there was a lot of adversity towards SO because of his disability. But eventually, his team started to welcome him. He had a lot of fallouts with his attending, Kim Do Han, but eventually even he realized that SO had good intentions. Both SO and DH had lost brothers in that past, so the two shared an interesting relationship throughout the drama. Not only did he develop a close relationship with DO, but regardless his nusual quirks, he was just so sweet and caring, that the staff and patients loved him. The drama mainly involved SO becoming more human through all the interactions he had with the staff and patients in the pediatrics department. There were many intersting cases that came about throughout the drama. It was especially interesting because the patients were all children. It was a very cute and touching drama. I have a slight bias because I'm in the medical field, but nonetheless, this was an excellent drama with great acting by the lead male actor. I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars. That's it for now.

Her Legend

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished another drama today and thought I would post my review before heading to bed. The drama was Her Legend. At first, I was not sure if I would like this drama, but then after starting it, it got me hooked. The drama was about Eun Jung Soo and her struggles after her mother passed away. Initially, she was taken in by her uncle, but their living situation did not really scream "welcome". Her aunt really did not want her living there, and neither did her daughter; Eun Kyung Hee. Eventually, a woman decided to adopt JS after some unusal meetings. However, after finally taking JS in, they had a bad car accident that left the woman in a coma. Her husband was away for business while all this happened, so since he did not have any attachment to JS yet, he decided to take his wife to the US and gave up the adoption. Before he left, JS's aunt forced him to send money since she JS was supposed to be adopted by him. He did end up sending money, and her aunt decided to use it for her own daughter. A few years later, JS and KH were both in middle school, and a call came to adopt JS again because the woman came out of her coma. However at that point, JS's aunt and KH became greedy, and somehow they ended up sending KH in JS's place. The rest of the drama revolved around the reality of the switched fates. I liked the drama, however I got a weird feeling after it ended. I feel like they could have ended it with a few more answers. Regardless, it was a good drama about greed and how far people will go to keep what they have (regardless of whether it's theirs or not!). I give this drama a 4 out of 5 stars, not because the plot was bad, but rather because the lead actress's acting was just horrible! I only watched it to the end because the plot was very interesting (every week I wanted to watch the next episode). So, I would suggest this drama to anyone that wants to watch a good plot, but don't expect spectacular acting. I actually preferred the supporting roles more than the leads. So, don't be discouraged from watching it because of one bad actress! That's it for now.

Wonderful Mama

Hey Everyone!

So, I surprisingly finished another drama this week! I actually did not realize the drama had ended because I thought it was 50 episodes, but they cut it down to 48 episodes. I'm glad I realized it when I started watching episode 48 today. Anyways, the drama was called Wonderful Mama and was just a really nice family drama. The main story revolved around Yoon Bok Hee and her three troublesome children, Go Young Chae, Go Young Soo, and Go Young Joon. One day, BH suddenly found out that she has Alzheimer's, so to make her troublesome and immature kids grow up, she decided to fake her own bankrupcy. Suddenly, the spoiled kids were stuck living in poverty! Initially, YC met Jang Hoon Nam by coincidence before even becoming poor. He thought over her as a spoiled little rich girl, until she helped him in Cebu (to set up a fashion show). At that time, HN was dating, Lee Soo Jin (daughter of Choi Eun Ok). However, EO found out that HN was from a  poor upbringing, so she went against their marriage. Meanwhile, YC entered HN's company as their new designer. Slowly, HN got over his first love and started to fall for YC. While all the chaos was going on, there was a secret that was coming out. BH had a son from before the three children she currently had. Not only did she have a child, it was with the man that EO was arranged to be married to. Even after over 30 years, EO still held a grudge with BH for stealing her man so many years ago. EO even stole the child after he was born, and lied to her husband that the child died in a fire. All throughout the rest of the drama, the secrets slowly arose. EO continued to cause BH lots of pain by causing trouble with her children. Not only that, but EO also hid BH's child from her for over 30 years and lied about his death. Now that BH had Alzheimer's, she was on a misson to help her children grow and get over her child's death. This drama was very sweet and emotional as well, because it showed the hatred between two women that festered for over 30 years. Not only did they hate each other, they also then caused problems for their children. I thought the drama was very realistic and would recommend it to anyone! Though this review makes the drama sound very dramatic and emotional, there was a lot of comic relief as well. I would suggest it to anyone that loves family dramas. I give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars because it was just that good.

Some comments (spoilers!):

- loved the YS and DJ couple! (so cute!)
- it was super dramatic when BH found out who her son is (the reaction by the Paterinity doc from the tests results gave it away though lol)
- it was also funny to see EO and her reaction to who BH's son is
- the last episode made me cry so many tears!

That's it for now.

I Summon You Gold

Hey Everyone!

So, I finally finished another weekly drama a few days ago, called I Summon You Gold. I liked the drama a lot and waited every week to watch it! The drama was mainly about Jung Mong Hee (MHee) and her birth secrets. MHee was brought up in a big family and always supported them financially. When she was younger, she had to give up college to help finance her sister's schooling. Normally when we see this happening in a family in a Korean drama, usually it's because the younger sister is mean or the mom is mean, trying to take advantage of the girl. However, in this drama, the younger sister, Jung Mong Hyun (MH), was a very sweet and caring little sister. Anyways, MHee was initially working by selling jewellery in a little vendor outdoors, whereas her mother sold jewellery all her life in a big diamond company. Her mother always had a dream of having her children grow up and marry rich and elite (since she had a poorer upbringing). Meanwhile, the President of the diamond company had his own problems. This was the other family that was seen in this drama which was FULL of secrets! The president in the past divorced his wife (because he thought she cheated on him) and had two mistresses (a son each). He now had 3 sons; Park Hyun Soo, Park Hyun Jun, and Park Hyun Tae. HS was married to a girl named Son Yoo Na (who looked identical to MHee). HJ was married to Sung Eun (later seen to be MHee's arch nemesis). And HT was just a playboy, having fun all the time. HS grew up with a lot of scars because his current step-mom (HJ's mom) told him about his mother's extra-marrital affair when he was a child. So, HS always grew up thinking he was unwanted and that his father saw the affair everytime he looked at him. He was now married, very unhappily to YN, who was very overbearing and rude! However, he had no choice in the say because YN's parents were really rich, and provided funding for HS's father's company. Eventually, YN requested a divorce and left home. This was when HS discovered MHee. He kept following her around until he finally asked her to pretend to be his wife (YN). At first she said no, but later when she had some financial problems (because her sister MH getting getting married to his brother HT), she agreed to pretend to be YN for a while. In the meantime, MH was to marry HT, but only because she wanted her mom to be happy. When MH and HT first met, HT told her that he loved someone else, and that it's upto her to marry him or not (he wanted to marry her so that his father would be happy and step-mom would not bother with him anymore). During this time was when MHee had to make the decision to become YN, because she needed the money to pay for her sister's wedding. Eventually, MHee and HS became really close because they could comfort each other. They started to fall for each other, but they were always kept apart because he was already married. The rest of the drama revolved around MHee and her struggles to become a jewellery designer and HS trying to get his father's approval (and prove his mother's innocence). Eventually, the secrets from both families came out, with many twists in the plot. I really liked this drama because it ended in a very realistic way. I loved Han Ji Hye's acting as usual. It must have been a challenge to act two different roles for the same drama. Anyways, I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars, and recommend it to anyone looking for a new drama to watch. That's it for now.

Summer Nude

Hey Everyone!

It's been a while since I watched a Japanese drama. This one was called Summer Nude, and I had been waiting for it for a while (due to the cute cast line up). The drama was mainly about Mikuriya Asahi and Chiyohara Natsuki, and their coincidental meeting that led to an intense summer! In the beginning of the drama, Natsuki was getting married and Asahi was her photographer. Unfortunately for Natsuki, her husband left her after the ceremony. She was really depressed, and Asahi only made it worse by provoking her anger. A few weeks later, she received a wedding photo from Asahi that made her realize that she needs to move on in life. A few days after that, Asahi called her and requested that she visit him in his home town for a change. Little did she know, that he would be asking her to stay there and help out at a beach restaurant (she's a chef). When Natsuki first reached the place, she really enjoyed herself and met some new people, namely Yaino Takashi, Taniyama Hanae, and Kirihata Hikaru. The four of them had been friends for a long time, and Natsuki felt right at home while there. Initially, she was hesitant to suddenly work in a completely new environment (she was used to fine dining v.s. beach hut!), but eventually she gave in and started working there for a new beginning. When she started working there, Hanae asked Natsuki to help her win Asahi's heart (Hanae was chasing after Asahi for 10 years already). Natsuki had enough of relationships, so she found it fun to help them pair up. What she didn't know at the time was that Asahi was still waiting for his ex-girlfriend to come back (already waited 3 years). After finding out about Asahi, Natsuki tried to help him get out of his depression by trying to help him get over the girl. Eventually, he did give in, and attempted to move on with Hanae, but of course that's when Natsuki realized her feelings for him and his ex-girlfriend also returned. The rest of the drama revolved around Asahi trying to sort out his feelings and move on in life from his hometown. As well, it involved Natsuki trying to get over her feelings and making a new start in Tokyo again. The drama was really interesting and each character matured by the end of the drama. I would definitely recommend this drama to anyone looking for something different. I give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars because it really had me wanting to watch the next episode each week! That's it for now.

You're the Best, Lee Soon Shin

Hey Everyone!

It's been a while! I have been trying to finish another weekly drama for a while now, however most of the dramas I'm watching now are about 50 episodes long! Anyways, after a short hiatus, I'm back again to post about another drama I have just completed. The drama was called You're the Best, Lee Soon Shin. I initially started watching the drama because it had the singer IU in it, but soon enough, I realized it was a really good drama! The drama revolved around Lee Soon Shin and her birth secrets. Initially, she lived very happily with her family (mom, dad, sisters, and grandmother). But after realizing her interest in acting, her father passed away suddenly. Little did the family know, that there would be a lot of turmoil to come after this incident. At first, SS had bad luck trying to find an agency that wanted her, but eventually Shin Joon Ho accepted her because he was having a bet with his ex-girlfriend (Choi Yun Ah). So, SS started to practice with Song Mi Ryung (a famous actress). However, what no one knew at that time was that MR was SS's birth mother, and the night of SS's father's death, he was with MR (he saved her from getting hit by a car). When MR found out that SS is from that family (she didn't know SS was her daughter yet), she immediately withdrew being a fan of SS's acting and started preventing her from getting gigs. Eventually, the truth came out that SS is MR's daughter, and everything was in chaos! The rest of the drama revolved around SS accepting her birth secrets and finding a new love. The drama had a great plot and the acting was good too. There were a lot of attarctive characters in the drama as well, so that helped a bit too! All-in-all, it was a very good drama, one that everyone should check out. I would give this drama a 4 out of 5 stars. That's it for now.

Monstar

Hey Everyone!

I just finished another drama that I was watching weekly, called Monstar. The drama was mainly about a rebellious idol named Yoon Sul Chan. He was sent to a regular high school when he caused some trouble with the media. At the high school, he met Min Se Yi, a transfer student like him. They started off on the wrong foot from the begining, but eventually the two fell for each other. In the mean time, the two were part of a school band called Colorbar. The band consisted of the kid who got bullied, the bully, the jjang (gang leader) of the school, the odd-ball, the Mr. Perfect, and the idol. While performing with this new group of misfits and developing his feelings for SY, SC realized that school life isn't so bad. The rest of the short drama involved further character developments and unveiling many secrets about the band members. The drama's story line was good, but the music was even better! I really liked the drama because it was different and on a similar wavelength as the first Dream High. Although Dream High was about wannabe singers, this drama showed the lives of regular kids and the fun they have with music in their lives. I would definitely recommend this drama to everyone. It was short, but definitely worthwhile. The cast was also filled with cuties! I even started following the band GLAM because Da Hee's voice in the drama was so good! I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars. That's it for now.

May Queen

Hey Everyone!

I am actually really excited to write this review! I finally came across another really great drama that was filled with all sorts of emotions! The drama was called May Queen. I avoided this drama because its genre was "melodrama", but after I started watching I Summon You Gold, I was really attracted to the acting done by Han Ji Hye, so I finally gave in to watching this drama. I was definitely NOT disappointed! The drama was mainly about Chun Hae Joo and her struggles in life starting from her first birthday. The drama started by revealing HJ's birth secret. Her parents, Lee Geum Hee and Yoon Hak Soo, were being chased by the Japanese Intelligence agency, only to be seen that it was GH's old flame (Jang Do Hyun) that was chasing them. DH killed HS for a microfilm that contained information about drilling for oil in S Korea. He then pursued his first love (GH) by getting rid of her daughter HJ (then known as Yoo Jin). What he didn't know then was that HJ did not die, but was rather given away to another family. HJ grew up to the age of 13 when she and her adoptive family returned to Ulsan again. At this point HJ met Kang San, Park Chang Hee, and Jang In Hwa (girl that GH raised). All three kids became even closer with a boating incident, where the four were stranded in the water for over 24 hours. HJ's bright personality also attracted both CH and San right away, but HJ only had eyes for CH. However, CH's father was working for DH (he was the one that gave HJ to that family instead of killing her), so to get rid of her, he killed HJ's current adoptive father (he found out the truth). After that incident, she and her family had to move. Meanwhile, DH stole San's grandfather's shipyard and so San had to move to the US to study (and take revenge someday). Fifteen years later, we see all four characters in Ulsan again. This time, it was seen that CH and HJ were dating for those fifteen years, and San had returned from the US (he was hired by DH's company). CH was finally ready to introduce HJ to his father, but he could not accept because he had killed her father! Eventually, CH gave up on HJ because she did not want to abandon her family to escape with him. CH also gave her up because he found out what his father had done. This started CH's revenge against DH. Meanwhile, San was always following HJ around, and even gave her a job at the shipyard (keeping in mind, she only graduated from middle school, yet got lots of technical certificates through work experiences). After her break up with CH, slowly HJ started to find out about her birth secrets. Eventually, she and San became closer, and in the process of CH's revenge, he ended up marrying IH. The rest of the drama unfolded all sorts of deep and dark secrets! There were plot twists all over the place! That aspect of the drama really excited me, because normally I can predict plots very easily. I would definitely recommend this drama to everyone that has the time to watch it. It was full of roller coaster emotions and great character developments. I give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars!

Other Comments (Spoilers!)

- I loved the teen characters (so cute!)
- CH's character was dark, but he was really intense! Loved it! (esp his impulsiveness with kissing girls!)
- HJ's mother was too much =P
- Happy with the end couple match-ups!
- When I found out who HJ's real biological father was, was a true twist I was not expecting!
- Only thing I am left curious about is, what happened to DH in the end? Did he die? Did he go to jail? (if you know the answer, please do comment and let me know!)

That's it for now.

Last Cinderella

Hey Everyone!

So, it has been a while since I watched a Japanese drama to the finish. This drama was called Last Cinderella. It was a cute story about a Beautician, Toyama Sakura, and her love interests Saeki Hiroto and Tachibana Rintaro. The story started with Hiroto's sister (who was in love with Rintaro) asking Hiroto to flirt with Sakura (to keep her away from Rintaro). Sakura being almost 40 years old, was very flattered by this young guy chasing after her. At first she was reluctant since there was a 15 year age gap between the two, but eventually the two started getting more serious. In fact, Hiroto started falling for Sakura in all the mess. Eventually, even Rintaro realized his true feelings towards Sakura. The rest of the drama revolves around the love triangle between the three characters and trying to figure out who Sakura's "prince" is. It was a cute drama, so I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Other comments (spoilers):

- Loved the Sakura+Rintaro pair way more!!!
- Was disappointed in the ending because she should have chosen Rintaro :(

That's it for now.

Nailshop Paris

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished another drama. I have to admit, this drama was definitely a flop! I only watched it to the end because I was hoping there were more substance. The drama was called Nailshop Paris and starred Park Gyu Ri from the Kpop band Kara (main reason I wanted to check it out). The drama was mainly about a girl named Hong Yeo Joo who wrote online novels about gumiho's. However, for her newest story, she started following a guy named Alex who worked in a nailshop. She decided to transform into a boy and work at the nailshop to find out more about her main character for her book. The rest of the drama involved her slowly falling for Alex and Kay (another colleague at the nailshop). Kay pursued her first and YJ started dating him. But, when Alex found out she is a girl, he also realized his feelings. The drama continued to show YJ trying to pick between the two guys and also trying to find out who she is. I actually did not like this drama too much, but it was a simple story for anyone looking for something super light! I give this drama a 3 out of 5 stars only because I actually watched it enough to finish it. That's it for now.

Gu Family Book

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished another weekly drama called Gu Family Book. The drama starred again some of my favorite stars including Lee Seung Ki and Suzy (from Miss A). I had been wanting to see the finale of this drama all week, and after watching it... well I'll let you watch that and decide what you thought of it! To give a short description of the drama, it was mainly about Choi Kang Chi, however the story started in KC's parent's time. Back before KC was born, his parents (Wol Ryung and Yoon Seo Hwa) met under bad conditions for his mother. SH had just been sold to a gisaeng house (home of the prostitutes/entertainers back in the day I suppose). She came from a noble family, but her father was killed as a "traitor" by his friend. At that time, she was put to shame by being sent to a gisaeng house, and that is how WR found her (tied to a pillar, half naked!). He helped her get free and the two hid in the forest where WR lived. What she didn't know, was that WR was a spirit that lived in the mountains. The two became close, got married, and almost lived "happily ever after", until the evil guy (her father's friend) came to find her. At that time, to protect SH, WR showed his true self. At that time, Dam Pyung Joon was asked to kill the "demon". When WR showed his true self, DP had no choice but to kill him (to protect the humans). At that time, SH felt really betrayed and left WR to die. However, after WR's death, SH realized she was a pregnant. She tried to kill the baby many times, but eventually gave birth to him and left him by the river. Now forward to the current time, and KC was found to have been taken in by Park Moo Sol. MS initially took KC in because he was told to have brought prosperity to him. In fact, he tired to get rid of KC once and his wife almost died during labor. So, in time he gave in and raised KC like his own son. At that time KC was shown to have not released his spirit powers yet (because he wore a bracelet to prevent it) and so he had no idea where his roots came from. He also was in love with MS's daughter, Park Chung Jo. But, before any real romance developed between the two, the guy from the past (SH's father's friend) came back and did the same to MS (framed him as a traitor and killed him). This started the real story and how KC realized that he was a spiritual creature. After the MS died, KC was taken in by PJ, but unfortunately for PJ, his daughter, Dam Yeo Wool had already fallen for KC (what a twist!) even though it was prophesized that "one of them would die", she still went for it! At first though, YW kept her distance from KC because she thought that he was in love with CJ. However, eventually, even KC realized that the one he really loved was YW (there is a cute past story between the two, and how they met in the past as children) because the only person that could calm him during his change into the "beast" was YW. The rest of the drama showed a lot of interesting character appearances as well as great romance development between KC and YW. The theme of trust was really big in this drama because many people needed to give in to KC and truly trust him even though he was thought be a "beast". I would definitely suggest this drama to anyone looking for something with a great story line, because even Lee Soon Shin was mentioned in this drama (he made a lot of great efforts for S. Korea in the past and was a great leader). I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars, mainly because the ending left me hanging a bit. However, they did end it in a very interesting way. You will just have to watch it confirm for yourself! If any of you have watched this drama, please do let me know what you thought of the ending! I am excited to see what comes of it.

Other comments (spoilers):

- The interactions between KC and YW were super cute
- When his parents were shown again, that was such a sad scene when SH gave up her life to save WR!
- I was crying like no tomorrow when YW died in the past (the ending this way kind of reminded me of Faith)
- The ending was not favored by many, but I actually liked it. Gives me hope for a modern twist!
- I did feel like I was left hanging a bit in the finale because I wanted to know why he never searched for the Gu Family Book (or did he??)
- I am very curious to see what happens next, and if perhaps there will be a Sequel! I shall wait patiently...

That's it for now.

Hundred Year Inheritance

Hey everyone!

It has been a while! The thing is, I have recently started to watch dramas weekly, so until a drama finishes, I won`t be posting on here. Today, I finally finished Hundred Year Inheritance. This drama was a great drama with my two favorite actors as leads (Eugene and Lee Jung Jin). I had started watching this drama a few months ago, and it finally ended yesterday. I waited all day yesterday, but the drama was not fully subbed until today. It was totally worth the wait! The drama mainly revolved around Min Chae Won and Lee Se Yoon. It was a family drama, so there were lots of side stories. The drama started off super dramatic, as CW was still in her first marriage to Kim Chul Kyu. Her mother-in-law was horrible to her, where she would yell at her and beat her (she even made her sign a pre-nup). In the first few episodes, we were introduced to CW`s struggles with her mother-in-law. Eventually, when she finally agreed to give her husband a divorce, her mother-in-law sent her to a psychiatric hospital and made her stay there for a while. During that stay is when CW met SY. She saw SY (who was visiting his friend - a doctor at the clinic) and begged him to take her out of there. Initially SY thought she was crazy and was just trying to escape, when she really shouldn't. But then, later he overheard people talking about how her mother-in-law brought her there and wanted to keep her there without her permission. Eventually, he asked his friend about it, and found out that CW was telling the truth. However, by the time he found out, CW had already escaped, and she had a terrible fall during her escape. While SY was driving in the rain, he spotted her on the road and took her to the hospital. While there, he realized that CW had lost her memory, and since SY was the first person CW saw, she assumed that was her husband. The two from then on started to get to know each other. CW still had her memory lost when her mother-in-law returned for her, and so took her back in. CW was very distraught, and eventually just gave in since SY denied being her husband. During the time CW was at her in-law's home, CK realized that he still loved CW, and kept her from finding out the truth about what his mother did. Eventually, her mother-in-law went back to her old ways, and made CW feel like she did something wrong. In the meantime, she attempted to frame CW for adultery with SY because they kept bumping into each other whenever CW was in need. Finally, CW regained her memories, and tried to get her divorce again, however she wanted things in return (such as property, etc.). Her mother-in-law did not want that, so she framed CW`s father for faulty electrical work. CW finally gave in to a divorce without any payment, and left that terrible place. Prior to the divorce, CK was becoming really attached to CW again, but his mother made CW lie and act to get the divorce from him. When he found out it was all a rouse, he was really upset, and chased after CW even more! The rest of the drama revolved around CW becoming independent again (though with SY's help). There was added drama between these two, since CK's sister was in love with SY from a long time ago, and so she tried to cause a lot of problems between CW and SY getting closer. Some other side stories involved CW`s father falling in love and marrying a woman that ended up also causing problems between CW and SY`s relationship from flowing smoothly. One of the main plots of the drama was to find someone to run CW`s grandfather's noodle factory. Eventually CW took over and made the Hundred Year business a success. I won`t give away the rest of the story, as there were lots of different side stories and of course the many obstacles in the way of CW and SY from getting together. However, I definitely enjoyed this drama a lot and will miss watching it every week! It was an excellent drama with a little bit of everything a drama needs! This was definitely one that I will have at the top of my list of dramas. Please do check it out and let me know what you think/thought about the drama! If you don't know yet, I give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars!

Some other comments (spoilers):

- The baby switch was definitely predictable!
- I love the Eugene and Lee Jung Jin combo!!! Super cuties together (he has gotten cuter now with the chubby look, but was super hot in 9 ends 2 outs)!
- The interactions between the two leads were adorable!
- The CK and new wife combo was cute, but wow was CK annoying!
- I could not stand CK's sister! What a little brat =P
- When her grand father died, I cried so much! He was such a cute little grandpa!
- I would love to try some of those noodles they kept making
- SY's biological mother was really pretty!
- The cliffhanger after SY's accident had my heart drop when his hand fell (seemed like he died!!)
- Loved the last episode! So glad the old mother-in-law apologized to CW and also learned her lesson!

That's it for now.

Panda and Hedgehog

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished another drama called Panda and Hedgehog. I realized that this drama did not get enough credit as other dramas do (due to casting). The drama casted mostly new artists, and as much as I love watching the usual actors, this was a nice change, with a great storyline. The story was about Pan Da Yang (Panda) and Ko Seung Ji (Hedgehog). Hedgehog lost his memories when he was 11 years old due to an accident, and because he couldn't remember anything, he lived a very difficult life. He even went to prison because of causing trouble as a minor. When he got out of jail, he wanted to become a patissier, so he went to his idol's cafe. There he was ridiculed and thrown out (due to his background). At the point, he set out to ruin the shop, but luckily in the process he met a kind older man that took him in under his belt. The two interacted as grandson and grandfather for almost 5 years. When the elderly man's daughter suddenly showed up, Hedgehog decided to go work somewhere else, to give them space to re-connect (she had been gone for many years). While away, he met Panda at her run-down bakery that her parents left her before they passed away. Hedgehog shocked Panda with his baking skills, and she hired him right away (without a resume). Eventually, Panda's old friend, Choi Won Il (also the son of the cafe that ridiculed Hedgehog) returned from the U.S. WI did not like Hedgehog from the start and when Hedgehog found out that WI is that patissier's son, he started to dislike WI too. Eventually though, Hedgehog realized that WI also detests his father because he is not his biological father, and he was ruining his real father's cafe. In the meantime, WI was trying to attract Panda, but to his dismay Hedgehog fell for Panda as well. The rest of the drama revolves around the love triangle between the three, as well as trying to find a lost friend. It was a light hearted drama, but it did involve some serious issues as well (such as finding a lost family member). I really liked it because I love dramas involving cooking or baking. I give this drama a 4 out of 5 stars because it was well made, even with unknown actors. That's it for now.

Flower Boy Next Door

Hey Everyone!

So, I finished another drama today called Flower Boy Next Door. I have to admit, I have been waiting a while to watch this one (due to exams and all). It seems like a very comedic and fun loving drama, but there was talk of a lot of sensitive issues. The main characters were Enrique (Que) Geum and Go Dok Mi. Initially, QG arrived in S. Korea to visit his brother, however his visited started by him losing his first love to his brother. In the meantime, DM hid in her room all day (possible agoraphobia), but fell for QG's brother since she used to see him across from her window all the time. When QG came along, he figured out that DM was peeking at his brother, and so he went over to confront DM. From that incident on, the two kept seeing each other for different circumstances (e.g. DM was editing QG's book). Eventually, QG was on a mission to help DM come out of her apartment more often (his little project before heading back to Spain). After much efforts, he did succeed. However, DM's neighbour, was madly in love with her for a very long time. Unfortunately for him, QG reached DM quicker, with his boisterous personality. At first, DM did not like QG's constant approaches. But, eventually, she grew to like his bubbly personality. She also appreciated the fact that he cared enough to help her get over her fears of being in public places and coming in contact with large crowds. Later, it was determined that DM kept to herself due to an incident in the past (betrayal, loss of trust, bullying). After many encounters, DM and QG started to fall for each other, but QG was supposed to leave for Spain again. He almost left, but returned back to DM because he was just too worried about her. He later realized, that worry was because he was falling for her. DM felt a bit betrayed since he was going to leave so suddenly. But when she saw QG return for her, her spirits were lifted again. The rest of the drama revolved around the relationship between QG and DM and the struggles to achieve their dreams. The drama was very cute and simple. I give this drama a 4 out of 5 stars. It was also nice seeing Park Shin Hye on TV again. Please let me know what you thought. That's it for now.

Rich Man Poor Woman

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished another drama. In fact, it is my first Japanese drama in a LONG time! I am sooo busy studying for exams, that I needed something lighter to watch. I ended up watching Rich Man, Poor Woman. It was a really cute drama about a guy named Hyuga Toru and his crazy ways of running a business. He was originally a carefree and lazy business man. However, one day he met Natsui Makoto. The girl entered his company with a false identity (used his biological mother's name) because he had prosopagnosia (cannot recognize faces). Eventually, she realized that what she did was wrong, and told him the truth. It did hurt him, but they ended up getting along again after that. The twist in the story was when Toru's best friend and business partner betrayed him. At first Toru was shocked and realized he had lost everything (didn't help that he already had trust issues since his mother left him when he was a child). During his lowest point, Makoto helped him regain his composure and helped him start another company. The rest of the drama revolved around Makoto teaching Toru how to behave with others, and bringing out his feelings for her. I gave this drama a 4 out of 5 stars mainly because there were a few unresolved issues (mostly about his mother). Otherwise, it was an excellent, light drama, that made me laugh a lot. Very refreshing! That's it for now.

Faith

Hey Everyone!

It's been a while since I last posted. To be honest, I think I finished a couple other dramas since my last post, but I just have a hectic semester this time. However, after watching this drama, my heart will not let me sleep without posting its tale. The drama was called Faith, and it was my third historical drama. It mainly revolved around the story of Choi Young and Yoo Eun Soo. ES was from the 21st century, but CY was sent to her time to bring a doctor back to save the current queen from dying. When CY went, the first doctor her found was ES. This event started an array of adventures for the two of them, and eventually (of course) they fell in love. Initially, the two could not stand each other (especially since CY technically kidnapped her). ES also did not acknowledge her feelings for a long time because she was a doctor that liked to save lives, whereas he was a killer by trade (army General). Eventually though, the two just could not help but fall in love with each other. However, it turned out that there were many instances that CY almost died, and so, the future ES left her clues to help save him. Of course throughout the drama, there were lots of bad guys that got in the way of their love. In this case though, there were not too many people preventing their love from growing, but rather lots of greedy people trying to steal this so called "heaven person". Eventually though, ES had found a way back to her world, yet she decided to stay. The rest of the drama involved ES's struggle to stay in that world with CY, and CY's struggle to further protect ES. If you watch the drama, you will get a chance to see just how the characters all developed over time (like for example the new king). I found this drama to be a really good, heart wrenching drama, that definitely kept me wanting more! Their love in this drama just made my heart melt, and made me realize you should always live in the moment and always appreciate what you have. The ending, you'll have to see for yourself, as I do not want to spoil it. It is definitely a good watch, and I hope to hear from others once they've seen it. I gave this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Extra comments (SPOILERS!)
- I loved the sceneries
 - The King and Queen were portrayed really well (the yearning for each other was just wonderful!)
- Lee Min Ho! (what more do I need to say?)
- The ended was heart wrenching (if you have watched it and know what I mean, please do comment and let me know what you thought of the ending)

That's it for now.
